Give the ‘3Bs’ to a Local Child This Holiday Season

2

’Tis the season for giving, and for many local families that means donating toys, food, clothing and more to those in need in our community. There are many worthwhile activities, and we invite you and your kids to be part of our giving back initiative in in partnership with a local family and several area businesses. From now until December 17, we are collecting the 3Bs (Bandaids, Books, and Blankets) for the patients of Randall Children’s Hospital at Legacy Emmanuel.

3B-2015

The 3Bs initiative was started by the Lyda family of Hillsboro four years ago after their daughter, now 5, was treated at Randall Children’s Hospital for a cancerous brain tumor as an infant. Read more about their story here. They wanted to give back to the hospital after the excellent care their daughter and family received. They also discovered that anything other than basic, flesh-colored bandages and standard hospital blankets were provided solely from donations. What child wouldn’t want to wrap themselves up in their favorite characters and fun colors? And being able to go home with these items, including a new book or two, is one small way to brighten the spirits of these young patients.
