To all the busy moms like me…When you have the whole family to look after, it becomes hard to make “taking good care of yourself” a priority, specifically feeding yourself quality, organic food. I should know as I am a mom of three and an entrepreneur. Juggling all the work can be overwhelming. One moment you’re cooking, then the next second you’re cleaning all the mess, doing kid’s stuff, and then of course all your business workload.

We are required to be at our best every single minute of every single day. So, in order for us to fulfill these tasks, we need to fuel our body from the inside. It’s true that it is hard for preoccupied moms to eat well, but I believe that eating nutritious, organic food is a must in order to stay healthy and productive. Here are THREE simple meals that busy moms like us can easily prepare

3 Easy-To-Prepare Organic Food Meals

When we are crazy busy, food preparation is something we find to be time-consuming, but by keeping these ingredients handy, you will be less likely to just eat whatever is there. Start off with these simple but tasty treats you can prepare in minutes, and then search online for tons of other organic food recipes to keep yourself fueled. 

Avocado Toast

  • 4 slices whole grain bread
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • green onions, minced
  • cilantro, chopped
  • 2 tbsp pumpkin seeds, coarsely chopped

Toast bread, spread with butter, and top with sliced avocado, green onions, cilantro, and pumpkin seeds.

Power Smoothie

  • ½ cup acai puree
  • 1 cup mixed berries
  • ¾ cup apple juice
  • 30 g kale
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1 tbsp flax seeds
  • ¾ cup ice cubes

Put all ingredients into a blender, process until smooth, and pour into glass.

Seasonal Fruit Smoothie

  • ½ cup berry puree
  • ¾ cup apple juice
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1/4 cup ice cubes

Eating well is only one of the numerous things we can do to accomplish “self-love.” Other ways are squeezing mini-workouts (10-15 minutes) into our busy schedules, keeping ourselves hydrated, and getting the right amount of sleep.

Although it is difficult to make healthier choices in life, as moms it is very important to make sure we are taking good care of ourselves. Because in order to continuously look after our loved ones and fulfill our extra tasks, we should be in great shape too, inside and out!
