Creative Roots

Explore a different artist, art style or theme each week. Camps include art instruction time, outdoor exploration, time for lunch, yoga, community volunteering, occasional field trips, and play. Each camp also includes tours of the historic neighborhood, led by Slabtown Tours. All camps are taught by professional artists and/or professional educators.  Camps are held at Creative Roots in NW Portland, at 2661 NW Thurman Street, unless noted otherwise.

During our Summer 2017 session we will offer two summer camp sessions, one for kids ages 6-9, the other for kids ages 10-13. Instructor to student ratio is very low and space is limited, please enroll by May 30th to ensure your child’s space in camps.

Oregon Children’s Theatre Summer Acting Academy

Looking for a fun and exciting summer experience that your child will look forward to every day? OCT is the place to be! Our Acting Academy classes are offered for ages 4-18, for all experiences levels, and taught by professional instructors with a passion for theater. Check out the Summer Soccer Camps offered at Buckman Turf Field Complex in the heart of Portland at the intersection of NE 15th Ave & NE Glisan St. Soccer camps are offered by Portland City United, Laurelhurst Soccer Club, and the Portland Timbers!

Our camps are designed for Pre-K through 8th grade players, ages 5 through 13, from all backgrounds and skill levels.  The camp curriculums are designed to give kids a fun environment to learn new skills, develop a love of the game, meet kids in their neighborhood, and play a lot of soccer. Creative Arts Day Camp at Marylhurst University

The Creative Arts Day Camp at Marylhurst University is a half-day program where children are immersed in creative arts in a therapeutic setting. Activities reinforce the ideal of achieving one’s maximum potential in a friendly and adaptive environment that fosters success through music, art, drama and movement/dance. Campers are kids with or without special needs, ages 5 to 17. Camp counselors are Marylhurst music therapy and art therapy students, supervised by practicing professional therapists.

Lillieth Grand is a licensed music therapist. She teaches music therapy at Marylhurst University and operates a private practice, Milestone Music Therapy. Lillieth is a sensory integration specialist, and she holds a master’s degree in special education. She is the mother of three boys, one with special needs.

World of Speed

Discover the excitement this summer with World of Speed’s Summer Camps! Our week-long and single-day programs are exciting, educational, and most of all fun. At World of Speed, you can learn the fundamentals of speed and become a racer yourself, design a CO2 dragster, or explore the world of robotics, 3D printing, and drones. For kids who like to dream, kids who like to get their hands dirty, and kids who like to go fast, there’s something for everyone from kindergarten to high school!

Each of our week-long programs runs Monday through Friday. This year, we have new single-day camps aimed at the younger crowd, too: Kids in grades K–2 can learn the science of bubbles or get an introduction to engineering and how different vehicles work. Engineering For Kids

Join us this summer to explore the fantastic world of engineering through our fun, hands-on summer camps! Engineering For Kids brings science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) to kids 4 to 14 in a fun and challenging way through classes, camps, clubs, and parties.

We have Junior camps for our youngest engineers ages 4 – 6 years, Apprentice camps for our experienced engineers ages 7 – 12 years old, and also Master Camps for ages 11 – 16 years old. Through both directed and open-ended projects, campers will explore everything: mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, marine engineering, hardware engineering, robotics, Minecraft and much, much more!!

Willowbrook Arts Camp

At Willowbrook Arts Camp for children ages 3-18, creativity flourishes in a rich environment of integrated arts and nature. Camp runs for six weeks each summer at Browns Ferry Park in Tualatin.

Toddlers to teens choose from more than 30 centers that include theatre, dance, music, writing, photography, film, nature, arts and crafts, ceramics, basketry, puppetry and more, guided by a talented staff. Weekly stage productions are open to all ages.

With an impressive return rate, early campers now bring their children! Kids love the diversity, parents love the flexibility. Campers may attend half a day to all six weeks.

Peninsula Children's Learning Center

At Peninsula’s summer camp we are going Full S.T.E.A.M Ahead with a fun and educational summer program. Your 5-12 year old can join us for the whole summer (June 22-Aug 11) or for just one week at a time to explore science, technology, engineering, art and math with fun, hands on projects and activities. Your child will also enjoy plenty of outdoor time on site as well as field trips and special guests each week. We hope you will join us at Sabin school this summer. Enrollment begins March 6, 2017.
