Looking for a great place to raise your sweet babies? Portland has no shortage of great neighborhoods, but I’m partial to Northwest Portland. I’ve been in the heart of NW for eleven years and I’m in love! Northwest Portland is perfectly walkable, and has access to great shopping, top notch hiking and wilderness, as well […]
It has been an incredible year at Vibe of Portland. Come join us as we unveil our new Studio AND celebrate our 10th year empowering Portland’s youth through art. Since programming began in 2008, Vibe has grown to work with 10 schools and serve over 3,000 kids. We could not have achieved this without our dedicated staff and the community’s generous support.
Bring the family to this free event on Saturday, September 23 between 10am and 2pm. Tour the new Vibe Studio (formerly the Cafe Au Play space), participate in family art projects, yard games, and raffles. Food cards will be on site with food for purchase. Come celebrate with us!
I miss summer vacation already! I miss the control I have over who I see and what I do, and I miss filling my days with family activities and carving out special time for the important people in my life. The lack of obligations is better than the rush and flurry of school days. Back […]
With all of its festivity and yuletide joys, winter’s official kickoff in December is easily greeted, but something sinister looms on the other side of New Year’s Eve, the winter blues. In a time when expectations of young children are increasing, and kindergarten in Oregon is now full-day, families are choosing to delay entry into the formal school system. While it is a […]
Things feel a little unsettled these days. You know what will help? Community. I encourage you to make one. Yep, do it. You can. I believe in you. You know why? Because I did it. It doesn’t take money. It doesn’t take a special personality. It doesn’t take the “right” neighborhood. It takes you. Maybe […]
Coffee is a staple in my life. It is my go-to for forward motion; it propels me into the day by telling me, wake up and get busy! Tea, however, says to me sit, enjoy, relax. There is something intentional about a cup of tea in the way it is brewed specifically for you. It requires […]
Whether you’re Irish or not, Portland is a fantastic place to be on St. Patrick’s Day. Between our growing number of Irish pubs and popular community events, you will find plenty of ways to celebrate. Since the holiday falls on a Friday this year, prepare for a full weekend of family-friendly festivities! So, don that […]
I’m tired of “Stranger Danger.” We are raising a bunch of little people that are scared. Scared of all the people they don’t know. I’m not doing it! Yes, I know *gasp* I am calling into question the notion of “stranger danger.” But, this is not actually revolutionary, I’m just saying it again. Most people are good and […]
